According to MassivelyOP, Nexon's second quarter report for 2026 has resulted in a special dividend payout to shareholders due to the company's strong financial performance. The report shows that while operating income for the quarter was down by 17% at ¥31.3B ($196.6M), net income was up by 77% to ¥29.6B ($185.9M) and revenue went up 2% to ¥121.1B ($760.8M).
MassivelyOP reports that Nexon CEO Junghun Lee confirmed that the company's cash balance was 'more than enough to fund future growth opportunities', leading to a special dividend of ¥415 ($2.15) per share, totaling approximately $2B. The report also highlights the success of ARC Raiders, which sold 800,000 more units and contributed ¥18.3B ($114.9M) in revenue.
The MapleStory franchise also achieved a record-setting quarterly high, climbing up by 63% compared to the same time last year, according to MassivelyOP. This is attributed to the launch of MapleStory Worlds and MapleStory: Idle RPG. However, Global MapleStory's revenue is down 7% year-over-year, although Nexon expects double-digit growth in Q3.
